What this site meets, how it was measured, and what is not yet tested. Written after two failures were found and fixed rather than before.

01

What is measured

Text contrast on this site is computed against WCAG 2.1 AA rather than judged by eye. Two tokens failed a review and were corrected: the smallest type on the site measured 2.88:1 against a 4.5:1 requirement, and its dark-theme counterpart measured 4.45:1. Both now pass.

The site navigation is a native disclosure element. It was a span carrying a button role with no keyboard behaviour — announcing a control that did nothing — and was replaced, because markup that promises behaviour it does not have is worse than markup that promises nothing.

  • Colour contrast, AA, body and micro-typeDone — Computed, not estimated
  • Keyboard operation of navigationDone — Native disclosure semantics
  • Screen-reader pass on a real deviceNot yet — Not yet run. We will not claim it before it is
  • Honours the reduced-motion settingDone — Implemented in the stylesheet; not observed in a browser
  • Zoom to 400% without loss of contentNot yet — Not yet tested
